Zakat is the amount of money that every adult, mentally stable, free, and financially able Muslim, male and female, has to pay to support specific categories people. This category of people is defined in surah al-Taubah (9) verse 60: “The alms are only for the poor and needy, and those who collect them, and those whose hearts are to be reconciled, and to free the captives and the debtors, and for the cause of Allah,  and (for) the wayfarers; a duty imposed by Allah. Allah is a knower, Wise.” (Al Quran 9:60) Charity Australia International is dedicated to making the most effective use of your generous donations in order to alleviate the suffering of the world’s most vulnerable individuals, particularly in Pakistan. Through the utilization of your Zakat contributions, we have been able to support essential initiatives aimed at assisting communities and people affected by various disasters, such as the Pakistan Floods in 2022, Cholistan Drought, COVID 19 pandemic, and the Turkiye-Syria Earthquake.
